My roots

It all started when…

My name is Mario Mattia, an apprentice smith in the ABS (American Blade Society) and I’m from Italy.

You all know that here we all care a lot about food and cooking, and I am very lucky to have my grandma working as cook 70 years ago, a lot of old school tricks mixed with the modern knowledge of chemistry I’m really proud of.

I have a lot of memories linked to the kitchen and knives, me under the kitchen table playing with pasta dough, the smell in the air, the jazz that come from the busy stove, the knife on the board chopping onions and carrots, garlic and rosemery.

I believe that all the good things starts with good tools, in all fields, and becouse I worked as cook too I believe that a good knife is a strong starting point if you want to be committed to total quality.

For each task you need a specific tool to take out the best.
